Harrowing

With many years of grassland care, we understand how important it is to get the grass best prepared for the growing season. After the wet winters, the paddocks and fields can become badly poached. A good time to harrow paddocks is in the early Spring, this will help the sward recover from any damage occurred over the wet winter months. The benefits of harrowing are to aerate the soil, improve drainage, level uneven ground, and pull up any dead grass or moss.
We have different size and types of grass harrows, essential to get the best results for each paddock or field.
Flat Rolling

A good time to flat roll paddocks or fields is after the grass as been harrowed, ideally in the Spring. The reason for this is the ground is generally still damp and the use of a heavy flat roll will help even poorly poached areas. It will also help push the soil up against the roots, helping the grass to do well in the growing months ahead. As with the harrowing we have different size flat rolls, so we are prepared for different gate sizes and areas of land.
Fertilizing

We are able to look at the pasture, and discuss different ways to enhance the growth; this can include applying granular fertilizers. There are many different fertilizers available these can include, semi-organic, high nitrogen based or adding trace elements. When applying fertilizers we always take into consideration soil types, the environment and the weather.
Reseeding
When it comes to reseeding or regenerating paddocks, Landmark Paddock Services has the equipment and knowledge to get the best results. With many different types of grass seed on the market today, we are able to advise and supply seed that will best suit the situation.
With many years experience we have successfully completed many reseeding projects, all to a very high standard, these range from large gardens, paddocks through to polo pitches, and always taking into consideration, soil types, drainage and topography.
As part of our ongoing management service, to deliver up to date facts on all issues regarding paddock maintenance. Landmark Paddock Services are members of the British Grassland Society, and regularly receive scientific and relevant information on all areas of grassland management.
